You know what? Detention sucks. It's a horrible thing to have to deal with and Soul doesn't even understand how he got it. Come on, doesn't being a Deathscythe afford him any leniances?

Nope. Not here and not everywhere. That's just great, but Soul would have rather learned it in an easier way. Not that detention would kill him or anything, but sitting around in a room with nothing going on but sitting? Okay. That's just not cool. Even less cool is that is why he has this particular type of detention. Nope, he doesn't get to do anything for his punishment. He hate not doing things the worse and so that is what he is being given.

Detention is sitting in a room so he's doing exactly that. What else? Twenty minutes before Soul can leave. Longest twenty fucking minutes of his life. He already know this, okay?!

At least he's allowed paper and a pencil. Not that Soul's utilizing it in any great way, but tapping a pencil is at least slightly distracting. For like... five seconds, you know.

Argh.

But. But but but, but... but! Okay, that is a lot of 'buts', but we swear it is going somewhere. And that place is: whether or not detention is boring, maybe Crona can fix that!

It's an idea she got into her head earlier, while thinking about how much this didn't sit right with her, considering how he had gotten the detention. (It had involved helping her.) So she had tried to do something with the idea and had not actually gotten anywhere.

What was that? Well, Crona had tried to earn detention for herself, so that Soul would not have to sit there alone. But apparently that just doesn't work out. No matter what she tried, she just could not make it work.

Though Crona understood why it was not working (the reasons being ones she hated), this did not actually help her get it. But you know, she has heard of the word 'assertive'. Also the words 'doing the wrong thing'.

So, um, hey. If she can't get them to put her in detention, she can just go in there herself.

Though her mad skills in recon should not at all apply to the school, sometimes they do in odd ways. This is one of them. Mostly it involves waiting for whomever is running detention to leave, because it always happens. It's a very boring job!

Crona's waited awhile and now it pays off. Whatever reason the teacher decides to leave, they do. Crona looks both ways before crossing the hallway, then uses her skill in Being Quiet to sneak right on in there.

Sneaking successful! What will Soul do with this?

Holy crap. Talk about unexpected. Like, Soul had just been wishing someone would come along and save him, and then Crona was right there? That's premonition level, dammit!

Holy crap holy crap. Soul's impressed. But whatever will he do with Crona? Teachers walk out but they come right back in, let alone it would be dangerous to try to talk across the room here. So, uh.

He's not going to try to tell Crona to go back out before she got in trouble, that just wouldn't work. She was too stubborn for that and in addition, it might just make her feel bad. Besides, now that she's here, Soul wants her there. If Crona gets in trouble, he'll just get himself detention again to make up for it.

Yeah, they both kinda had the same thought patterns sometimes. Oops.

So he gives her a thumbs up instead and points right down next to him. They can figure out how to make her incognito once she gets there.

What was this going to do, give them an endless Mobius Loop of detention? Soul in trouble, then Crona in trouble, then Soul in trouble, so forth and so forth. Actually, she wouldn't really object to that, it would be kind of nice! In a "you are not actually supposed to enjoy this" kind of way, and yet, she would.

Crona isn't dumb and so she can grasp what Soul is trying to tell her. One glance behind her to check for a teacher presence, though it doesn't really help with the door closed. Then she scurries.

"Hi I wanted to help you so I'm here what do I do now." The whisper is all in a rush, and really, Crona ought to have thought this over before. It's not right to leave the rest of the hows and whys on Soul.

Sigh.

At least it wouldn't be a zero-sum game of detention. That would just be crappy. Soul wouldn't mind it that much anyway, the sole reason being that Crona would be there. That just brightens the whole thing up and makes it completely not boring to boot.

"Uhhh," Soul says, speaking at the same exact time as he is thinking. "I guess we gotta hide you somehow."

He sounds completely confused and completely blessed.

"Ooh," Crona says, and tries to think. Her brain is trying to run down so many tracks at the moment that it's hard to focus on any one particular element of this situation. But she can, darn it!

It doesn't take much, anyway. Just remembering that the tables exist and therefore sitting right on the floor. That ought to cover her, right?

Maybe. Soul gets a funny look on his face at that, mostly because there's no possible way to know what the gross people have trekked all over this floor.

"Um," he says. "That's probably not good for you."

"No?" Crona looks completely blank as to why. She just doesn't see whatever could possibly be wrong with this.

"It's okay," she says with a smile, one of the ones that started rare and are getting increasingly common. "It's good for me if it's for you."

Yes.

NO what was she saying she could not possibly rate what's good for her by who she was doing it for and he's a dumb person to do things for anyway. AAAAH this stinks of Soul being a bad, bad influence!

"Be careful saying stuff like that," he says. "Someone might take advantage of it."

Soul slumps down in his chair and just looks at Crona, his eye a little wide while he's just not blinking.

But if Crona thought of it by herself and did it by herself, why would Soul be the bad influence? Maybe it was even the other way around!

Oh, she would like that. It would be kind of funny, right up until she got booked in the head. Maka basically never did that to Crona but she would probably see the necessity of it then.

"Nope," Crona says. "'Cuz I only say it to you and Maka, I'll be okay."

Completely, 200% okay.

How does she know that she isn't already. Not that Soul could possibly ever work out the different influences on his bad behavior, but...

Yeah. Okay.

"I don't have any idea what do to with you," he says, keeping a close watch on the door. "Which is horrible because you having this idea is amazing."

BAH.

If either one of them is a bad influence, then they can just go ahead and become bad influences together. More fun that way, correct?

"It's nothing special." Really, it wasn't! How was it? It was just Crona being silly and dumb... even with a good cause.

"There is always leaving early."

That is probably not a great plan.

"No way." Wait, were those words actually coming out of Soul's mouth? Maka wasn't puppeteering him or something? Yes to the first, no to the second. Because:

"If we do that, I'll get more detention and you'll start getting some too."

...................maybe. Crona is pretty immune to detention, wasn't she? Must be something in her water.
